LITERATURE AND ENVIRONMENT- A STUDY

Abstract

      Human beings are the most complex and sophisticated entities on this planet. They keep on considering themselves as centers of this global village in the galaxy. But since few decades, the center has been loosing its power to hold the things and mere anarchies such as globalization, pollution, diseases, natural disasters and epidemics have been spreading around this center. From the beginning, literature and arts have been drawing a path of brave new world through imaginative creativity. It keeps on showing to the center how to hold the things, the value of natural beauty in the backdrop of artificial terrible beauty and to construct a utopian world where everything will be perfect. It has made them to realize the interactions and union between physical environment and human environment. Literature and arts also take account of what is happening in the world and it does reflect upon the ecological environment. This paper attempts at analyzing how literature and arts have been emphasizing upon the ecological and environmental awareness.
